CCSA/NIRSA National Tournament Fall 2000

The 2000 season has come to an end. Last weekend the Shockers couldn't make it to the second round at the NIRSA National championships.

The group was really hard and the Shockers got a win, a lose and a tie during the tournament. WSU was in group number one, with Howard College (Washington D.C), University of Florida and St Thomas Univerity (Houston).

The first game was a 2-2 tie against Howard. Both of the WSU's goals were scored by striker Jason Haas in the second half. The shockers controlled most part of the game but the victory couldn't be reached.

In the second game the Shockers beat St Thomas 6 -1. The goals were scored by Mauricio Leoz, Juan Nogues, Rodrigo Nogues, Mohammad Hannou, Jason Haas and Doug Boidreau.

The last game, played on friday morning, was the second defeat of the season for the Shockers. It was a 1-3 against University of Florida. The only goal for WSU was scored by Jason Haas, the top scorer for the team this season. The Florida team played better and consequently controlled the game all the time.

This way the Shockers say goodbye to an excellent season of 12 wins, 2 losses and 2 ties, and the team now will take a rest to make it even better the next year.
